The wine journey is on a bit of a hiatus, although the winemaking is continuing. Last year’s batch of Syrah is ready for bottling finally. This year’s batch of Zinfandel is coming along… Speaking of which, I should test that tonight for blending.
Countdown is under way for when the wine journey can re-commence: 5 months and 26 days, according to the docs.
There are thousands of grape varietals. Before I die, I would like to try as many different single varietal wines as possible. Not that I don’t like blended wine, but I really want to understand the characteristics that each component brings.
I think I could carry a blog just telling stories about illogical government bureaucracy and censoring. But I can’t… These days, I feel like there is no freedom of speech anymore. And being a government employee, I could lose my job. How wrong is that?
Finally put in some new shades. These are Hunter Douglas duette honeycomb shades with Architella fabric. It has an R-value of 6.25. It is amazing how much of a difference the shades make with the temperature in the room, even with only two of the four shades installed.
Costco has been awesome. There was a problem with a couple with them. We had them remade with no problem. Should be arriving soon.
